Body & Mind Integration
Somatic therapy focuses on our psycho-somatic experience, ie. the ways in which our minds effect our bodies and our bodies effect our minds.
When body and mind are out of integration, life is difficult. There is a constant barrage of unhelpful thoughts, feelings, impulses, behaviours, and reactions that we must somehow manage and live with.
When we look back over our lives we may find that we keep ending up in the same situations over and over no matter how hard we try to make different choices. It turns out this is not some personal failure (phew!) but a lack of body mind integration.
With it’s foundation in neuroscience, attachment theory, and trauma work, somatic therapy works to bring all of these disparate internal functions into harmony.
